an intruder in my barn

the intruder

an intruder has taken a temporary place in my barn.  a late night arrival.  my human is responsible.  she even woke me up when she delivered this visitor.  i called to her wanting to know what the commotion was all about.  she assured me all would be fine and excitedly began to tell me the story of my barn mate.  it began like this… it was a dark and foggy night…. Sea Pony wanted an adventure.  away from the dock this water pony motored as if a close friend to the sea.  skimming away from civilization Sea Pony noticed green and red flashing lights off to the west bobbing up and down in the dark distance.  she chose one of the green flashing lights as her destination.  this water pony had a small lone white light aft that gave mark to her place in the dark and fog on the water. bight silver flashes of light jumped on both sides of her flanks as she drew closer to the chosen destination.  floating for a period of time next to the buoy that rose and fell with the swells Sea Pony was reminded of myths and legends of sea creatures, mermaids and the Kraken.  deciding it was time to head back to port she turned her bow toward the east and accelerated.  the bright silver flashes flanked her sides again.  having an active imagination Sea Pony began to wonder if the little fishes jumping out of the water were actually being herded by the Kraken for its late night meal.  was this little water pony going to be part of that meal?  was she going to be a lost mystery?  as Sea Pony was leaving the darkness and fog behind, her imagination gave way to sensibilities.  there is no Kraken.  resting in the calm of half lighted waters she began to think that she must take the journey back to the flashing green light to prove to herself she was not afraid.  arriving back at the buoy with green flashing light (with  much self coaching along the way) Sea Pony became confident in her decision of making this trip.  again turning to the east heading back to the safety of her dock she accelerated.  this time the current of the salty brine was quite strong and the little water craft pony had much difficulty making progress toward port.  the silver flashes of little fish surrounded her and the drag on this little boat was unnerving.  oh NO! the Kraken!  it must be!  a late night snack!  Sea Pony gave all her might in horse power (notice not pony power) and finally overcame the pull on her vessel as she reached the calmer waters.  trembling and needing a cool rest she skimmed into a brighter lit area of the bay.  regaining her pony senses she remembered seeing much marine growth on the bottom of the boat before she embarked on this adventure.  yes.  this must be the cause of the difficulty poor Sea Pony experienced.  convincing herself of this the water pony decided it would be a very good idea to clean the bottom of the marine hitchhikers.  telling herself again there was no Kraken, Sea Pony believed speed was a necessity especially in the dark foggy night when an imagination was active.  I became so excited hearing this story I cold not contain my nickers.  my human then began to laugh at me and said this was just make-believe.  a fun story.  i was not convinced about this story being make-believe,  for there was a new smell in the air with the arrival of this intruder.  one must remember i am a ginger girl and ginger girls know many things.
